Classes in family and consumer sciences, and human services focus on hospitality, tourism and recreation; food production and service; food science, nutrition and wellness; human services; human development; interpersonal relationships; parenting; education and early childhood; apparel and textiles; fashion design and merchandising; housing and interior design; consumer and family resources; career, community and family; and entrepreneurism.
Family and Consumer Sciences is uniquely equipped to address gaps in employability skills of CTE students. By leveraging FCS curriculum that includes competencies in social/ emotional skills, ethics, resiliency, work/life balance, and grit, CTE students can be prepared to thrive in their chosen career field
Hospitality Services and Culinary Arts facilitates students’ access to careers that address food security issues and community vitality through strong hospitality /tourism and food service/culinary arts workforce.
Education and Human Services includes some of our nation’s most critically in-demand education careers and careers serving children, youth, aging adults, and those with mental health challenges and connects you to careers that relate to families and human needs.
Visual Arts and Design allows students to apply design to meet human needs and solve 21st century challenges preparing for high-wage careers in America’s apparel, textile, and interior design, manufacturing, and merchandising industries.
Classes in Cosmetology focus on hair care; skin care and make-up; nail care; salon management/business development; theory; and related practical experience.
