The Firefighter 1 (FF1) Academy is an entry-level training program designed to prepare students for safe, effective, and professional service in the fire service. This academy provides the foundational skills and hands-on experience required to operate on the fireground as part of a team.

Upon Completion

• Eligibility for Firefighter 1 certification (state/IFSAC/Pro Board, as applicable)
• Skills and confidence to serve as an entry-level firefighter
• A strong foundation for continued fire service training

Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) First Responder Operations (FRO) training equips responders (police, EMTs, firefighters, etc.) to handle hazardous substance releases defensively, focusing on protecting people/environment by isolating the area and preventing spread, not stopping the source. FRO responders use PPE, implement basic containment (like plugging leaks or shutting valves from a safe distance), and know when to call higher-level technicians, following OSHA’s HAZWOPER standards. Training covers recognition, safety, use of the Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG), basic control, and decontamination.
