You’ll explore careers through direct engagement with employers and gain real-world experience in the workplace. Individualized Occupational Training (IOT) provides work-based learning opportunities for students whose career interests fall outside the career technical education (CTE) pathways offered at their school or district.
Why it matters
Not every career interest fits within a traditional pathway. IOT expands access to career exploration and helps learners build skills for careers that may not be available through existing local programs.
How it works
You’ll participate in work-based learning experiences aligned with your career interests. Opportunities may span any CTE program area and are tailored to local workforce needs and available employer partnerships.
Talk with your school counselor to learn whether IOT is available at your school or district.
