The Idaho Quality Program Standards (IQPS) grants support and strengthen Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (AFNR) programs across Idaho. These grants recognize high-quality programs and help schools establish new AFNR opportunities for students.
IQPS Incentive Grant
The IQPS Incentive Grant rewards Agriculture Science teachers who have developed distinguished AFNR programs aligned with the IQPS.
Up to 42 grants of $10,000 are available each year to eligible Agriculture Science teachers.
Who is eligible
Eligible AFNR programs for grades 9-12 must:
- Rank above “Basic” in all seven Idaho Quality Program Standards.
- Earn an average score of “Distinguished” or higher on the Idaho Quality Program Standards rubric.
Eligibility is determined through a joint evaluation conducted by:
- The teacher
- A local administrator
- The state team leader
Programs may apply each year, but aren’t guaranteed funding. Programs that qualify but don’t receive funding receive priority consideration the following year if they reapply and remain eligible.
How funding can be used
Funding supports the continued development and improvement of high-quality AFNR programs.
Important deadlines
- Applications open in early May.
- Applications close July 1 each year.
IQPS Start-Up Grant
The IQPS Start-Up Grant helps schools establish new AFNR programs.
Up to two grants of $25,000 are available each year to eligible programs.

- Be newly approved or re-established AFNR programs for grades 9-12.
- Be within the first three years of operation.
