The Idaho Division of Career Technical Education (IDCTE) provides statewide leadership and support for career technical education (CTE) and workforce training. We work with schools, technical colleges, employers, state agencies and community partners to create opportunities that serve learners and strengthen Idaho’s economy.

What we do

We help Idahoans explore careers, develop practical skills, earn recognized credentials and prepare for continued education and employment.

Our work includes:

  • Supporting CTE programs in middle schools, high schools and technical colleges
  • Preparing and certifying CTE instructors
  • Administering state and federal funding for eligible programs
  • Establishing program standards and supporting continuous improvement
  • Aligning education and training with Idaho’s workforce needs
  • Supporting Adult Education, GED® services and workforce training
  • Providing leadership development through career technical student organizations
  • Delivering statewide Fire Service Training and certification
