The Idaho Quality Program Standards (IQPS) Incentive grant, established by Idaho Code 55.01.04, aims to measure and reward Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resource (AFNR) program teachers across the state that have developed distinguished local programs. There are forty-two $10,000 grants available to eligible Agriculture Science teachers annually. Eligibility is determined by a joint evaluation between the teacher, administrator, and state team leader of the program according to the IQPS Rubric. Eligible programs must rank above “Basic” in all seven IQPS incentive grant standards and score an average of “Distinguished” or higher to qualify. Applications open in early May and closes on July 1st annually. Programs may re-apply yearly but are not guaranteed to be awarded annually based on the number of applicants. Individuals that are “qualified”, but did not receive a grant, receive priority consideration the following year as long they apply and remain “qualified”. For more information on how to develop a high-quality AFNR program and apply for this incentive grant, please reach out to Janine Hodges, Program Quality Manager for Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (janine.hodges@cte.idaho.gov) or email us at IQPS@cte.idaho.gov.
The Idaho Quality Program Standards (IQPS) Start-Up Grant, established by Idaho Code 55.01.04, provides $25,000 to programs working to establish a new Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resource (AFNR) program. There are two grants available to eligible programs annually. To qualify, programs must be newly approved, or re-established, AFNR programs for grades 9-12 and must be in their first 3 years of operation. Applications open in late August and close on September 30th. If a program applies for the grant and does not receive it, it may reapply for all qualifying years. Programs may only be awarded the IQPS Start-Up Grant once. To be considered a “re-established” chapter, the program must have been closed for at least two years and cannot have received this grant in the past. For more information on how to start an AFNR program in your local area and apply for this grant, please reach out to Janine Hodges, Program Quality Manager for Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (janine.hodges@cte.idaho.gov) or email us at IQPS@cte.idaho.gov.
