Fire Service Training (FST) provides training and certification for Idaho firefighters in partnership with fire agencies statewide. You’ll build the knowledge and skills needed to meet national standards and support safe, effective emergency response.
FST serves as Idaho’s official accrediting agency for firefighter certification through the International Fire Service Accrediting Congress (IFSAC)
What do you need to do?
Take a certification exam
Review certification requirements, prepare for testing and complete written and skills exams to earn IFSAC certification.
Host a certification exam
Partner with FST to host an IFSAC testing event for your agency.
Request training
Schedule training, reserve props and register for fire academies to build skills and meet certification requirements.
Attend a fire academy
Participate in regional fire academies offered throughout the year. All attendees must be affiliated with a fire agency.
Become an instructor or evaluator
Support firefighter training and certification by serving as an instructor or IFSAC skills evaluator.
Manage certifications and records
Request transcripts, apply for equivalency or reciprocity and manage your certification records.
