Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) First Responder Operations (FRO) training equips responders (police, EMTs, firefighters, etc.) to handle hazardous substance releases defensively, focusing on protecting people/environment by isolating the area and preventing spread, not stopping the source. FRO responders use PPE, implement basic containment (like plugging leaks or shutting valves from a safe distance), and know when to call higher-level technicians, following OSHA’s HAZWOPER standards.
