CTE programs are aligned with workforce demand. Postsecondary program approval considers factors such as employer need, projected job openings and wages in the region a program will serve.
Prepares Idahoans for jobs that support local communities
CTE expands access to education and training across Idaho, including rural communities. Learners can build skills for in-demand careers while developing connections with employers in their communities.
One connected system
IDCTE supports CTE from middle school through postsecondary education and adult workforce training. That connection helps learners move from career exploration to advanced training without treating each step as a separate system.
Secondary and postsecondary programs use industry input to help align learning with workforce expectations.
Accountable for results
CTE programs are measured using state and federal performance indicators and reviewed to ensure they continue to serve students and industry.
Under State Board Policy III.G, postsecondary programs may be subject to reduction or termination when multiple conditions are present, including inadequate job opportunities, enrollment, placement, completion or finances.
This review helps keep programs responsive to workforce needs and focused on student outcomes.
