Idaho’s six technical colleges offer career-focused certificates and degrees designed to prepare students for the workforce. Programs combine hands-on technical training with the academic and student support available through Idaho’s public colleges and universities.

The Idaho Division of Career Technical Education (IDCTE) provides state oversight, funding and program approval for career technical education at these institutions.

Earn a credential that builds toward your goals

Technical college credentials are designed to build on one another. Depending on the program, students can earn a certificate, enter the workforce and return later to continue their education.

• Basic Technical Certificate: 8 to 29 credits
• Intermediate Technical Certificate: 30 to 51 credits
• Advanced Technical Certificate: 52 to 59 credits
• Associate of Applied Science: 60 credits or more
• Applied baccalaureate degree: Available through participating Idaho institutions

Many programs also prepare students for industry certifications and licensure exams.
