You teach or have taught at a college or university and hold a postsecondary career technical education (CTE) certificate.

Renew your certificate

Choose this option if you hold a five-year renewable postsecondary CTE that expires Aug. 31 of the current year. Don’t apply before Jan. 1 of your expiration year. Applications submitted before that date will be returned.

What you’ll need

Complete the equivalent of six credits during your certificate’s validity period.

You can meet this requirement by completing:

  • Six transcripted college or university credits
  • 90 hours of approved conferences, in-service training or workshops
  • 240 hours of endorsement-area-related back-to-industry work
  • A combination of these options

One transcripted credit equals 15 hours of approved training or 40 hours of back-to-industry work.

Important

  • If you don’t renew before your certificate expires, you’ll need to apply for reinstatement.
  • You may add endorsements or certificates during renewal at no additional cost if you include documentation showing you meet the requirements.
  • Include all required documents for your application to be considered complete.

What to do
