Adult Basic Education
Idaho’s Adult Basic Education program is a free service that can help you improve your math, reading, writing, and English language skills. Whether you are learning to read, trying to pass your GED®, get ready for college, get a better job, or learn English, our program is here to help. Our friendly, professional staff will help you figure out what skills you need to work on to meet your goals and get you started on an education plan that makes sense for you. To be eligible for our program, you must be over the age of 16, not currently enrolled in any public high school, and have skills below the 12th grade (high school graduate) level in any of the following areas: reading, writing, or math.
We also serve students who cannot read, write, or speak the English language.
You can still qualify for the ABE program as a high school and college graduate if your skill level has fallen below the 12th grade level and they need some refreshing.
