Idaho FCS News and Updates

By Theresa Golis September 30, 2016

It’s going to be a great year for Idaho Family and Consumer Sciences!

We started off strong with amazing workshops and fellowship at the REACH professional development conference.  Kudos to the Idaho Assoc. Teachers of FCS (IATFACS) leadership team for organizing industry tours in Twin Falls and the unique hands on approach to highlighting Workforce Readiness Skills (WRS) and implementation in our program area. for more information about IATFACS, feel free to contact Marcia Farrar, Marcia.farrar@boiseschools.org, president; Brenda Williams willbren@d91.k12.id.us, president-elect, or Angie Beck, abeck@cdaschools.org, past president.

There are a few new FCS and FCCLA faces at ICTE.  We are pleased to have Lori Bradfield as our FCS Office Specialist, Lisa Costa as our CTSO coordinator, and Andrew Armstrong as our CTSO Office Specialist.  We make a great team!

The New Teacher Workshops are just around the corner.  If you are or know of a new Idaho FCS teacher I strongly encourage attending one of the two sessions offers.  ISU – Pocatello Friday September 30, and UI – Boise October 6-7.  For more information please search New Teacher Workshop in the ICTE search box.

Check out the FCCLA page found under the Student & Family link.  You will see updated information on area events and state happenings.  Lisa and the state officer team are doing a great job working through the year’s events.
